Add Email address credentials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Outlook requests now to enter you email address and confirm your action by pushing the &#x2018;Connect&#x2019; button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We used the dummy email address max.mustermann@pt.lu , of course you must provide your email address as delivered by POST Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterAddress.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"582\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterAddress.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterAddress.png 499w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterAddress-257x300.png 257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Outlook will use your provided email address to detect the best secure and reliable configuration for your environment:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-VerifyingConfig.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"496\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-VerifyingConfig.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2632\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-VerifyingConfig.png 496w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-VerifyingConfig-260x300.png 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 496px) 100vw, 496px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Having done the base configuration successfully, Outlook will ask the password for your provided email address:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterPassword.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"492\" height=\"571\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterPassword.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterPassword.png 492w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-EnterPassword-258x300.png 258w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 492px) 100vw, 492px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Enter your password for your email address and confirm again by pushing the &#x2018;Connect&#x2019; button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please assure that your password is correct. <br>A good approach to check your credentials before starting Outlook configuration would be to use <a href=\"https:\/\/webmail.pt.lu\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/webmail.pt.lu\">POST&#x2019;s WebMail<\/a> services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"AccountCreationTerminated\">4. Modifying an existing Email Account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POST Luxembourg&#x2019;s email security policy requires encrypted and authenticated email connections &#x2013; as well for IMAP\/POP as for SMTP.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have already configured your Email Account and you need to modify the existing @pt.lu Account, you need simply to&#xA0;<a href=\"#OpeningAccountsPanel\">open the Account panel<\/a>&#xA0;which will display a select list with all your email accounts already defined:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyAccount.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"781\" height=\"511\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyAccount.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyAccount.png 781w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyAccount-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyAccount-768x502.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 781px) 100vw, 781px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>As described in the above screenshot, please select your account (1.) to be modified.<br><em>Note: max.mustermann@pt.lu is only a dummy email address.<br>Please use your credentials as delivered by POST Luxembourg.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After having selected your email address (1.) , select from the &#x2018;Accounts Settings&#x2019; button (2.) the &#x2018;Server Settings&#x2019; which will pop-up a new panel as following:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyIMAPConfig.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"487\" height=\"555\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyIMAPConfig.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2637\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyIMAPConfig.png 487w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifyIMAPConfig-263x300.png 263w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Please check that your settings for incoming messages (IMAP) are identical to the ones as described above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If all settings are correct, please select the folded  &#x2018;Outgoing mail&#x2019;  menu, which will pop-up a panel as following:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifySMTPConfig.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"488\" height=\"556\" src=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifySMTPConfig.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2639\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifySMTPConfig.png 488w, https:\/\/support.pt.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/MSOL-ModifySMTPConfig-263x300.png 263w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Please check that your settings for outgoing messages (SMTP) are identical to the ones as described above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have modified your email Account and defined the correct Authentication method, your @pt.lu email address should be ready to receive and send messages identified by your Account credentials and your email traffic is encrypted, as well for incoming as for outgoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following Outlook configuration applies for computers\/devices based on a Microsoft Windows based Operating System (OS) and running recent Microsoft Outlook versions. 1.
